Rachel, you have done a fantastic job with this. So for the fall challenge do we come back to this thread and post our books or is there going to be something on the home page where we set a shelf like the summer challenge? Either way is fine with me. Thanks for all your hard work.
your welcome! tracy, it will be exactly like the summer challenge- i will post it on the home page and everyone will be able to set up their shelf for the challenge. this thread will be like the summer thread- everyone can post updates on their progress, make book recommendations, ask questions, make general comments, etc.
i was going to post it on the home page when the summer challenge is officially over but i might end up doing it a little earlier. i was also going to change the start date from sept. 4th to sept 5th.

Hey, my novel The Land Beyond the Portal contains the letters P-O-E-T. AND it can be used to fulfill Option #8, too. ;)(End of shameless self-promotion.)

it sounds like a great book j.s.- glad it can be used for the challenge :)
I loved the summer challenge and I am so excited to start the fall challenge. Thanks for being so creative. It gives me a new way to look at the books I already have on my shelf and makes me think I am reducing my TBR piles. I just have to stop buying books and that would be true, lol.
glad you like the challenges christine! i enjoy coming up with them and really appreciate the positive feedback from everyone.
I have already read 2 books for the challenge. The Angel's Game It was set in a foreign country, Spain. This Book Is Overdue!: How Librarians and Cybrarians Can Save Us All This is a book by an author I have never read before. I highly recommend both books!
i read The Orchid House: A Novelit's set in 2 foreign countries (england & thailand)
also 2 characters were in the military
gave it 4/5 stars
I will. I will. The chocolate factory is overall pretty sweet & keeping my plenty busy. I did get the weekend off so I hope to catch up on some goodreads :-)

lol lacey- your posts always bring a smile to my face (and i was having a crummy day, so thank you :)
i completely recommend the house on tradd street-it was a fun read.
I just put my name on the waiting list at my Iibrary so hopefully I get it soon. If not I'll...not sure what I would do lolAnd sorry you are having a crummy day. Hope tomorrow is better for you, woman!
Yeah, I was having a crummy day too but not no more :-) Thank You Lacey for making us all happier!
Sorry was crammed at work. :-) but hey just try to imagine something I would say in your head and you'll be all right hehehe
I think I can make room for Lacey's voice in my head. You'll fit right in with the other voices :-)
Lol oh good I'll have friends. But don't blame me for what might happen while my voice is in there hehehehe
I will really start this challenge soon. I challenged myself to read 5 books - we'll see how it goes. I have a Dean Koontz book to finish and then I shall be starting the Fall Reading Challenge. The first book I plan to read is a book of short stories by an author I have never read before:
then I plan to switch to the Koontz again with ODD APOCALYPSE because I finally got an audiobook from the library :-) Odd Apocalypse has yellow/orange on the cover and I'm pretty sure there are some characters that are ghosts in it

sounds good dcif you want you can set your challenge at 3 books and increase as you go or keep it at 5 and if that's too much then just decrease the number of books later on-it's all good-the most important thing is to have fun with it :)
8. Authors never readThe Mayfair Moon and Wings.
Currently listening to Zero Day which is for 6) in the military.
Well, I've gotten a couple of lols out of you tonight - quite an accomplishment. Now maybe the next step is to achieve a rofl or lmao :-)

the fall challenge will be from sept 4- nov 30
(it will be listed on the main page when the summer challenge is over)
the only rules for the fall challenge are:
read 3 books (or more)
compete 3 tasks (or more)
re-reads are ok
books can be in any genre
so this fall complete 3 (or more) of the following:
1. some famous authors were born in september. so this fall read a book by ONE of the following authors:
a. agatha CHRISTIE (born sept 15th) OR
b. stephen KING (born sept 21st) OR
c. william FAULKNER (born sept 25th)
2. oct 4th is National Poetry Day-so this fall read a book with the letters P-O-E-T in the title (these letters don't have to be in order)
3 oct 24th is United Nations Day-so this fall read a book set in a FOREIGN COUNTRY.
4. oct 31st is Halloween-so this fall read a book in which ONE of the characters is:
a. a GHOST OR
b. a WITCH OR
c. a ZOMBIE
5. nov 6th is Election Day-so this fall read a book in which one of the characters is a POLITICIAN
6. nov 11th is Veteran's Day- so this fall read a book in which one of the characters IS or WAS in the MILITARY.
7. fall= colorful leaves- so this fall read a book with a YELLOW or ORANGE book cover (or combo of these colors)
8. i've decided to add a random task to each challenge-this task is not inspired by the season but is still part of the challenge. so this fall read a book by an AUTHOR that you have NEVER READ BEFORE.
