OUT! Bought Bitten($13) for $3.00. Could a stronger person pass that up? Say no! LOL! I seriously got to the end of the row and was ready to leave. They had my fave genre erotic romance for $3.00 a piece and I was like NOPE not getting it. I can wait. But for some damn reason Bitten by K. Armstrong was my kryptonite. LOL. So anyhow. I thought I'd go ahead and share so whoever is left is winner by default and start a new challenge. Ugh. So weak.
Ok I had 97 pages to go to get to 3000 !I will post a new challenge in the next day or so.
In the meantime I need to chose my 3 reward books carefully.
Kenjii you won the mini challenge (1st to 1000 pages) does bitten not count for that, or had you bought something else for that win LOL??
Will see how long I can go without buying any books. lol It's garage sale season so usually find some super cheap at bargain prices of like a quarter a piece.
hey yeah I could count bitten for that, lol. still I am in between a couple books at the moment that probably wouldn't add up to more than 600-700 pages. so your still closer to the goal than I am. I forgot about my mini goal, lol. Imma do that again next challenge but I'll be more like a challenge read.

Congrats Jane. You all read much faster than I do. I ordered a used book for the last bonus challenge. I have all of Julie Garwood's book except her old YA book called "A Girl Named Summer". I found it for under 50 cents plus shipping at Amazon's Used Marketplace and am waiting for it to arrive. That challenge is now over and my book hasn't even arrived yet it finished so fast. lol
Hey yeah. that is a good idea. if you don't have the book for the bonus you can get it from the LIB. or try and find it. it will be OK to buy the bonus book. But list the title (if you remember). The idea is to add pages any way you can. so the bonus is like a hunt as well.
Thanks Briansgirl !Things will slow down alot for me now as we are into the final months teaching, with exams and reports to do, so my time at home will involve work too. Am going to enjoy this weekend though and really choose carefully what I want to read whether it be for a challenge list or not lol !

I am a member of my LIB. bookstore and the 1st SAT they have 50% off ALL the books for members only. Hmmm....what to do....
My library's annual friends of the library sale is in July when all books are 50 cents. Definetly going. I save for that all year as its one place I can get stuff that's in my very meager budget!!

It should read AND 2 used guys, but you know, lol. Briansgirl the Twilight book for 75 cents is great! Right? I mean I know its getting older but its hardback and people try and sell those for a $2 all the time esp popular ones. I did not go to the Friends of the Library 50% off sale. It is ALL about restraint when doing these challenges. I get sales, coupons from Barnes and Noble and everything I pass up b/c I want to win and get 3 or more book. Esp this Monster challenge. Hehe.
Well my library sale is once a year in late June. So whenever that hits, I'm out of the count off challenge. However, this is garage sale season and that's how I found Twilight for 75 cents and I havn't read it yet. However, I'm lucky enough to sneak in buying it between challenges. lol
I am sure if you start reading twilight (I presume it's the Stephenie Meyer one ?!) you will be hooked lol. I read all 4 books in 3.5 days lol.
Ah. I will give you that Brainsgirl. The sneek buy, lol. There will always be that few hours or so between challenges so if you see a good deal go for it. But do try your best to refrain. I say. If its not on my wishlist, then I don't need it. I try and update my wishlist as often as possible.
It is the Stephanie Meyer one. Cover has a photo from the movie. It's a paperback. If I find too many books at a good price at a garage sale, I'll have to drop out but otherwise I'll be in the next count off challenge. You two tend to read faster than I do. I only got lucky getting close once because I read a book a day for four days. lol A new series I started collecting as I found them at Goodwill was Sue Grafton's alphabet mysteries. (Found 3 hardbacks with 3 novels each to start off her series A through I for $2 each). Once I start reading these I know the library will have any I havn't found.I really don't have a wishlist. Because I buy most of mine used as I find them, I don't really have a list of what I want. Now I do keep a notebook in my purse. It's got different favorite authors on different pages and lists the books I have in pen and any I don't have in pencil (sorted by series too). I got tired of buying duplicates! lol Even at 50 cents a book, it adds up if I already have it. If I want to read something really new - I just hope the library has it. I was first on the waiting list for Jude Deveraux's Lavender Morning (Outstanding!!!) and second on the waiting list for Debbie Macomber's Summer on Blossom Street (good like the rest of the series).
