Duration: March 11 – March 25

Goal: 2628 pages
Reward: 2 new / 5 used

Bonus: (Double page count) – for anything related to the god of Mars, War or Romans
Bonus: (Triple page count) – for anything Shakespearean

576 pp.: The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski Mar 16 This book made me so-o-o mad! After putting the young hero through all kinds of hell, the author did worse than not letting him avenge his father's murder!! Based on Hamlet, indeed!!!

202 pp.: The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis b Mar 17 i i After the last book I needed something light and upbeat i Added to 373 pp. Angel's Peak by Robyn Carr Mar 15 (3.5*) I really like this series, but this one just didn't do much for me
158x2= 316 pp. (Revolutionary War) = Spies on the Devil's Belt by Betsy Haynes Mar 14 (3*)
169 pp.: Catherine Called Birdy by Karen Cushman Mar 14 (4*)
155 pp.: She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith Mar 14 (5*) I've seen this referred to quite often in historical reading, and finally decided to read it myself. It's a delightful farce - I'd love to see this one on the stage!
138 pp.: August Osage County by Tracy Letts Mar 13 (3*)
338 pp.: Not My Daughter by Barbara Delinsky Mar 13 (4*) Four small-town high school seniors make a pact to get pregnant at the same time; 3 are successful, and one of those is the daughter of the H.S. principal.
159 pp.: Something Big Has Been Here by Jack Prelutsky Mar 11
371 pp: Forbidden Falls by Robyn Carr Mar 12 (4.5*) My Review

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments paperbackswap.com now has a marketplace. U can use credits to get even more money off the cover price.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) Great! I have a cookbook that I loved that I bought on closeout last year Grandma's Wartime Kitchen: World War II and the Way We Cooked by Joanne Lamb Hayes. I discovered a sequel and found a copy used that I still need to read: Grandma's Wartime Baking Book: World War II and the Way We Baked. This is as good an excuse as any to read it now. Counts as my war book for monthly challenge too, since it's probably simliar to the first book in that there are alot of family war stories and how the family coped back home with food rationing, etc.

Grandma's Wartime Baking Book World War II and the Way We Baked by Joanne Lamb Hayes (Author's full name is printed on the red bar across the bottom of the bookcover.)

Looks like this is only available as an audiobook
I've discovered that most audiobooks work out to 35-40 pp. per hour. Audible says In My Dreams is 1 hr. 47 min., which works out to 61-70 pp.
I'm OK with that, but this is Kenjii's thread, so it's her call.

Unapologetic_Bookaholic | 2002 comments Oh yes Debbie/BJ that is fine =D. Thanks for helping. I find that its fair when you try your best to stick the closest to the original page count but sometimes you have to wing it!

These 3 covered author middle name, historical and M title. All 3 were pretty good. Been busy having my sons race pinewood derby cars in the District race all day yesterday and today is my eldest son's 13th birthday and his party is in 35 mins.

Ashley (ashleylaura87) | 444 comments This is a cool challenge! I just discovered the thread today! I really need something to challenge me to stay away from buying new books until I finish my massive TBR pile! I'll start the next challenge after April 4th! Yay, I'm so excited! :)

In my excitement I counted up all the pages I read in the entire month of February--3,862. March so far--1,129. Wow that's alot! But if I'd entered any challenges here I would have been pushed to zero since I made so many book purchases.

Looking forward to the joining you all in the next challenge!!
