I'm currently in the middle of 3 books, so if/when I finish them, I'll have loads of pages to post. Since I'm reading them for September challenges, I'd better finish them!
Great page count, Kate!
Thanks BJ. I've got 13 books to read for October if I'm to complete all my challenges for the month, so time to start reading full-size fiction again. (The novella's were a great way to start.) I'm working on Poison Study at the moment. Good but strange book. lol If you finish the 3 you're working on then you'll finish more than me, even if I do finish this current book. Will you make 2127 pages in the next 3 1/2 days?

I really liked Poison Study. Me thinks its time to start book 2 in the trilogy tomorrow. :)
Hehe BG. I am realky enjoying To Tame a Highland Warrior v Karen Marie Moning. It is more historical than paranormal romance. I really enjoy KMM's writing style. I have the next 1 or 2 books in the series and look forward to reading them. I love having a series I love [back to back:] if I don't get tired of a theme that is.
I was sent (okay, my son was sent, lol, by Harlequin's Teen Panel) Poison Study earlier this year as one of their books to review. I thought it looked good enough I bought the other 2 books in the series used off amazon. I'm glad I did. Starting Magic Study today. See if I can't hold off on Fire Study until Oct 1st so it'll count towards next month's monthly challenge as it's on a birthday girls shelf.
I've been looking into Maria Snyder books recently, and put the 'Study' books on my Wishlist, but sounds like I might be moving them up a little.Kenjii, You will absolutely love KMM's Highland series!!

Thanks Jane. Helped that I started again after my novella's with something that turned out to be a good book. And since it starts a trilogy.. I'm anxious to read the rest.

Just slightly more than halfway and only two days left, so I won't be reaching the magic number. So keep going, Kate! BTW, Kenjii, I like the way you arrived at the # of pages for this challenge!
Thanks and GG with those pages read BJ =D I thought it was a pretty neat idea for the challenge page count as well. Since Your message was #666 I think I should set up another secret reward for whoever posts message #1000. Just remember I said that, lol.

lol, Thanks Jane and BG. Yeah, I've really gotten into the Study books considering I was up til 2am and 5am to finish them (and still had to get the kids off to school in the morning). I was tired but I wanted to know how the story ended more. lol Now debating if I should read the last book now for the count off challenge, or hold off til Thursday so it counts as a birthday shelf book for Oct. hhhhmmmm loloh oh need to win this now. lol I just discovered her Glass series (Storm Glass, Sea Glass and third book due out next year) is a spinoff series from the Study one. Same world but minor character from book 2 in Study series is main character in her own series. Need to win so I can buy the first two books in the next series. hehe

I wasn't terribly impressed with it. The writing style was good but I didn't feel that the plot developed sufficiently, it wasn't scary or particularly spooky and I felt it had no resolved ending ! I'll be interested to know what you think if you decide to read it.

I've been a reading demon the past few days - I stayed up to the wee hours to finish the Harry Potter book last night and should have been able to sleep late this morn, but no such luck, so I worked outside for a couple of hours in the cool weather, then back to some short stories.
Thanks. I posted the list in the recent purchase thread. 18 were harlequins, one was Janet Evanovich and the last one was Wizard of Oz. Since I have a nicer version of that one already, it'll go in my garage sale box. Goodwill had books bagged up for $2 bag and these each had 10 books. Normally it's $1 a paperback there (where I did get one book by a favorite author that I didn't have as well). It was a clear bag and the titles didn't look too bad and most are recent and still have walmart price stickers on them. Decided not to pass up on the good deal.
BJ: How did you like the NS novel? If yall post reviews let me know. I read reviews! Make a little note next to the book [reviewed:] [R:] something like that. In fact I'll do the same =D.
I post a review for every book I finish. Some are really short and some are really long. Depends on the book. lol
Kenjii wrote: "BJ: How did you like the NS novel? If yall post reviews let me know. I read reviews! Make a little note next to the book [reviewed:] [R:] something like that. In fact I'll do the same =D."The Nalini Singh story was a novella in The Magical Christmas Cat anthology - it was a sweet Christmas story that IMO didn't live up to the possibilities she established at the beginning, probably because of the short-story setting, which is why I seldom read anthologies. I got this one from the library and was so glad I didn't spend money on it. I was told by several readers that I really should read the NS novella before Angels' Blood - otherwise I probably would have skipped it. But at least I was smart enough to work it into a couple of challenges!
Briansgirl "Master Book Sale Huntress" wrote: "I post a review for every book I finish. Some are really short and some are really long. In fact, some books are still on my 'currently-reading' list altho I finished them awhile ago - they're waiting for their review. So I hereby promise **raises hand in solemn vow** that I will try to write a timely review for every book. (Did you notice how I weaseled out of making a binding vow?!)
I do usually show stars by my books to indicate how much I liked it, but it appears that I've become inconsistent in that as well, so I'll go back in this thread and add stars to my latest book listing (post #695)
Edited: I added ratings to post 695

currently reading Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. This is the first full-sized fictional novel (not a novella or children's book) that I've started reading since my brother's death.
