I am ready for Friday. I am glad this will be called before I have to leave for the weekend. My dad called on Mon and said my parents are moving on the 1st. So, now I will be spending my weekend helping them move. I will be able to bring my book for this week with me.

Dawn, No, we are up in Shreveport (N.W. Louisiana) now. We left New Orleans the day before Katrina and were never able to return. My mom lives in New Orleans but her street is fine. I have friends however who are not doing quite so well. A few have trees down and others have water in their house. But Isaac has been an absolute mess and a misery for the state. It again brought home how vulnerable S. Louisiana is.
I am working tomorrow (something unusual!) but I will have access to a computer. I'm so excited!!

I am reading 11th Hour by James Patterson. So far I have read 21 pages and it has the bed-pg 11, yellow cover, celebrity-pg 21, and metropolitan area-characters work and live in San Francisco. I wonder how many more I can find in the next 371 pages and whether I will have to decide which items to choose for this book.

Alright, I'm reading Collateral by Ellen Hopkins. Can't link it since I'm on my phone, but page 78, Cole carries Ashley to the bed. Then for other ones, Cole and Ashley meet in a bar (page 18). He's a soldier with the Marine Corps, not sure if that will count as Warrior?

Obsidian (New Species Series) by Laurann Dohner

4.2 Stars!!!! 8/2/12

I love this series, These new species were created in a lab and treated like lab rats...They had been created in a test tube and infused with animal DNA-canine, primate & feline. They are super intelligent, human-like beings with enhanced scenes and physical abilities. They are finally rescued and the operation shut down but are hated by many human groups and forced to live on a old military base. They struggle to live in the outside world, govern themselves and overcome the abuse they suffered. Obsidian was number "880" but as part of his recovery takes the human name of Obsidian falls for his doctor Allison Baker. She felt forced to take drastic measures in order to save his life and found her self in alot of trouble. It is a fun romance and seeing these two, who are worlds apart and as different as they come...find each other was a real treat.

I just didn't want anyone to be worried. I usually read about a book a day - so I'm finished pretty quickly with my pick.
But I chose
as it had the items I wanted. So it will take me a little longer.

It's my favorite book ever. I used to walk around as Jo when I was younger. I haven't read it in probably 20 years. I'm really loving it.

Finished Shadowborn... 4¼♥'s

if you enjoy a more adult (but not overly pornographic compared to some) fae urban fantasy, I would recommend this book. It's not meant to be read as a stand alone, as it continues from book 1 and really relies on the knowledge of the characters. For those that require a HEA or at least a HFN ending, you can rest easy with this book- it will fit your bill. There is much focus on the difference between the Seelie and the Unseelie courts, but also brings in elves into this story. Overall, I like it and the first book. Definitely worth reading, even if that one pesky protocol of fae is not followed. (Thank Yous to elves and fae = BAD NEWS in my personal fae mythology.)
