Book Love Unscripted by Tina Reber

Review: This book was like mini soap opera. Ryan Christensen, famous movie star is running from fans, runs into a pub, and into the life of Taryn Mitchell, the pub owner. Luckily for him, she never saw any of his movies, and could care less about his celebrity, and he couldn’t resist a woman who treated him like a normal person. Their friendship quickly blossomed into something more, but the outside world kept interfering. From paparazzi, to crazy fans to jealous ex’s, Ryan and Taryn couldn’t escape the intrusions into their relationship. It finally took a toll, and both had to reassess if they had what it took to make the relationship work in the bubble that was Ryan’s life…and could they trust each other enough.
It was a nice story, I don’t know if it moved me like it moved other people but I enjoyed it well enough.

No ma'am. I don't want to change wheel. I will claim Blood instead.
Thing: Blood: “There's some blood. It's not that bad, but you should clean it just in case” (280).
Thanks Dawn!

Just remember we're nearly at the home stretch ladies! Keep an eye out for books that have the items you still need, and read as quick as you can... at the end of the day though, this is just a game, and we're in it for the fun of it. Fingers crossed for the final week/s :-)

hmmm....that looks suspiciously like like a non-human with wings on a purple cover. and i'll just bet there is a metropolitan area or a road somewhere in it!

you know, all the Nalini Singh Books have wings on a certain edition of the covers or at least they talk about wings in the book

Items:
Person: Various Supernaturals throughout book (i.e. Faeries, Were's,Pixie Vamps, etc.) I almost made the mistake of cursing you with continuous diarrhea, thinking you’d brought a Vampire into my home. (pg 87)
Place: In the Supernatural caged city of Santeria, any person with parents from different magical species was called a Mixbreed and considered powerless trash. (pg 7)
Thing: Drops fell down his silver wings brand and ran into his one good eye.(pg 14)
b>Color: Inch-long amethyst and moonstone tiles created a mosaic of spring lilies across a purple background.(pg 46)
My Thoughts:
This installment picks up from the conclusion of book one and starts with a great action piece. I loved that the world was expanded and added so many new layers to the original cast. New secondary characters and more world building enhanced an already wonderful environment making it more vivid. An already good and believable love triangle was re-enforced drawing the original main characters of Lanore, MeShack and Zulu into even sharper focus. By adding more facets to all three ( giving Lanore more friends and a more (for me) believable storyline; expanding MeShack’s peripheral, shallow existence in another environment and showing their past and; humanizing Zulu by giving him an issue-filled family life and portraying him as more than a neighborhood bully) their characters were enriched with more depth & desirability. This time around I felt Lanore was a more worthy bone of contention for the very strong male leads. Ms. Wright makes it hard on a shipper!

Book Fair Game by Patricia Briggs

Review: I don't know what i was expecting, after Cry Wolf & Hunting Ground, but this book wasn't it. Charles and Anna seemed at a pretty good place at the end of those books, but they were NOT okay here.
This book was truly about the story, and not about Charles and Anna. Charles had some issues to deal with and it was affecting his relationship with Anna because Charles chose to deal with his issues alone. Anna was hurt because he was hurt and wouldn't share or wouldn't let her help him. Anna blamed Charles' withdrawal and his pain on his duty as the enforcer of justice. What could they do for Charles' pain?
Well Bran tried a new approach. Bran sent Anna to be the point to be the Wolf "PR" & help on a Serial Killer case in Boston that included 3 werewolves. Charles was ordered to be her muscle and bodyguard. A serial killer had been killing boys and girls for over 25 years and no one could figure out who. Anna and Charles began helping the law enforcement by profiling the serial killer. This book was dark for most of the story but there was a light at the end of the tunnel. The highlight for me was that this case helped Charles and Anna begin to work together as a team again.
The story was well written and intricate. I enjoyed the addition of various players such as Leslie, Beauclaire, Issac etc. I wonder where Briggs is taking us next.
Don't read this story for romance because there is very very little in this book. But if you like a well written Thriller and Suspense story in your UF, then this is the book for you.
I read this book in kindle, so in parenthesis is the kindle location.
Color: White: “Issac grinned, a sudden, charming expression that showed white
, white teeth in his blue-black face. (1092)
People: Warrior: “These are the times that try men’s souls, quoted Anna in a soft voice, and Charles knew she was remembering another veteran“ warrior. (820)
Place:forest: His scent grew stronger: musk and “forest , salt and bitter, with an indescribably delicious edge of sweetness .” (2576).
Thing: Wing: “When she was six, she dressed for Halloween as a fairy princess complete withwings.” (1766).

Book: A Secret Love by Stephanie Laurens

Review:
I'll admit to having a soft spot for the Cynster men, and Gabriel was no exception. There is something about a man who prefers a strong-minded woman, who likes a challenge. Althea's level of autonomy and responsibility at the beginning of the story seemed unrealistic to me, but were a good reflection of her commitment to the same ideal Cynsters hold above all else: family.
There were a few inconsistencies for me, just enough to pull me out of the story and think: hmm, really?! but overall this was very well done. Especially so when you consider this is the 5th in a series that is still managing to keep my firm attention.
Person: COUPLE - Pg 244. " Gabriel directed Alathea's gaze to a couple whose country estate lay not far from Morwellan Park and the Manor."
Place: FOREST (JUNGLE) - Pg 272. "From the minute he learns of our plans until he returns to the jungle, or some other uncivilized place, you will not be safe."
Item: WING - Pg 273. "The east wing will have to be redecorated, too."
Colour: WHITE - Pg 281. "The box wasn't white—it was glass lined with white silk."

I'll be finished tomorrow. Less than 100 pages left.

Book: Veil of Midnight - Lara Adrian
Rating: ★★★
Completed: 10/25
Review:
With books in this series, you pretty much know what you're getting with each one. Warrior vampire finds soulmate. Stuff happens. Together, they defeat/resolve said stuff. Love happens. Rinse and repeat. That said, I do like this series. It's not my favorite, but I will continue to read until it's completed.
People: Warrior: pg. 6 ...a small cadre of highly trained, highly lethal warriors known as the Order...
Place: Forest: pg. 50 ...could have hidden out in the surrounding forest most of the night...
Thing: Wing: pg. 63 When it was comfortable, she flexed her arms and lifted herself up off the floor as smoothly as though she had wings .
Color: Black: on the cover

I felt the same way when I read Veil of Midnight. I thought this book is the exact same stuff, jsut insert hero & heroine name. I didn't read another MB book for about 6 months.
But Deeper than Midnight and the one after it took the series in a new direction. Now, I can't wait. Hunter then Chase's book rival Tegan's book as my favorite in the series. I am really looking forward to where Lara Adrian is taking the Order.

Nice!!!!

Awesome!! Good work everyone!

Boo! So I take it that since we've finished the people category, we don't have to find anymore unless it's called, right?
I'll be reading either One Grave at a Time - Jeaniene Frost or To Tame A Highland Warrior - Karen Marie Moning. If cliff isn't in the first one, I know it's in the second.

Well, I will have everything except Forest after this book!"
Nice! I will still have road and either bag or blood after this. Too many repeats!
