Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Erin wrote: "Hi, Sassafrass! Here are your picks. I had a good time looking through your shelves and I hope you can find something here that you want to read this month. If there's nothing you're in the mood for, let me know and I can pick again.

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home Run: Kissin' Tell by Lorelei James. You seem to have enjoyed the rest of this series very much, so perhaps the next book will be equally as enjoyable.

Field of Dreams: Bunny and the Bear by Eve Langlais. Someone recommended this to me earlier this year for this challenge and I loved it. A really fun book with entertaining characters and lots of laughs.

Clean Up Hitter: Chasing Bliss by Sophie Oak. You gave 5 stars to the rest of this series and this next entry gets an equally high GR rating.

World Series: Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters. I loved the heroine in this one, and its a fun historic cozy mystery story. The audiobook was also enjoyable as I recall.

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:

First and Goal: Fury by Laurann Dohner. I picked this up on a whim last month and ended up devouring the entire series. Book 8 just came out yesterday too.

Friday Night Lights: Persuasion by Jane Austen. One of my all-time favorite books, and the movie (or possibly it was a BBC mini-series, I forget) that came out a few years ago was good too.

Touchdown: Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde. I'm a big fan of Jasper Fforde's two other series so my sister recommended this one to me and I loved it. A hilarious take on a post-apocalyptic society in which your ability to see a particular color defines your social position. The main character is sent to the fringes after attempting to set up a new system of queuing in his hometown and discovers that all is not well with the collective.

Super Bowl: Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. Another personal favorite, you have read a few of the other books in this series and rated them highly, so why not see where it all began?"

Thank you, Erin! I am going to read a lot of books from your list. I can't wait! I think I'm going to do all of the Baseball picks and I'll likely do Fury and Shades of Grey.

so all together that would be:

Kissin' Tell (Rough Riders, #13) by Lorelei James Bunny and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #1) by Eve Langlais Chasing Bliss (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #7) by Sophie Oak Crocodile on the Sandbank (Amelia Peabody #1) by Elizabeth Peters Fury (New Species, #1) by Laurann Dohner Shades of Grey (Shades of Grey, #1) by Jasper Fforde

I'm such a dope that I didn't even realize that I didn't have Naked in Death on my read shelf. I read that one first! Oops. But, you've given me so much material, I'm going to be busy next month!

oooh I love my picks. I think I'll start with Warrior then maybe I can get to Dead and Gone since I loved the last one.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Lady Allison, I don't know if I followed every rule 100% but I think I have eight good choices for you. Let me know what you think. And despite my earlier comments about being castigated if you should choose to enact the option, I would be happy to pick something else should you so desire.

Home Run: This Side of the Grave - This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by Jeaniene Frost What are you waiting for? You gave 5 stars to all the rest. Did you think you'd stop liking them?!

Field of Dreams: I think you will LOVE Dragon Bound - Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison . Everyone who has read this that I've recommended it to has been a four or higher.

Clean Up Hitter: Read Drink Deep - Drink Deep (Chicagoland Vampires, #5) by Chloe Neill . You gave an average of 4.5 to the first four books in the series. Something tells me you will enjoy number five.

World Series: Here's a shocker, I think you should read Beguiling the Beauty - Beguiling the Beauty (Fitzhugh Trilogy, #1) by Sherry Thomas . It's a historical that takes place in England. Not only is it on your TBR, but I liked it enough to read the sequel.

First and Goal: The Siren - The Siren (The Original Sinners, #1) by Tiffany Reisz If you liked Megan Hart, you'll love this. Really good stuff.

Friday Night Lights: A Game of Thrones - A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin is still very popular. I hear it's a good series on TV. A great read is for sure.

Touchdown: I don't give five star reads on the first read through. Unfortunately I haven't had that much time to go back and re-read anything to upgrade something in the past either. But something I really liked this year... I don't know, I already recommended The Siren. Since I don't have anything that truly qualifies for this category, I'm going to give you two new series to read for Super Bowl. I'm just going to put the one I think you'll love here. Since you like the Fool's Gold series and you took my suggestion on the Marcelli Bride series, maybe you'll believe me when I say, READ THE LUCKY HARBOR SERIES BY JILL SHALVIS! It starts with Simply Irresistible - Simply Irresistible (Lucky Harbor, #1) by Jill Shalvis .

Super Bowl: And last and maybe least is a series I've been reading for a bit. It's so goofy that I'm almost embarrassed. The Cat Star Chronicles by Cheryl Brooks are about a species of cat like aliens with sexual secretions that cause instant orgasm in women. It starts with Slave - Slave (Cat Star Chronicles, #1) by Cheryl Brooks . To quote a review of the first book, "If you're looking for a good sci-fi read, this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for a good romance, this isn't the book for you. If you're looking for something a little smutty, a little cheesy, and very odd, then this may be the book for you!" and yet there is something that has caused me to buy the first seven that have been published.

Tell me what you pick!

I have a copy of all of those books, but I'll have to double check on Cinder. The other two books I ordered from bn.com so I will be all set for September. Thanks again!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Dee wrote: "Holy crap is the roof going to cave in?? Jim recommended a historical!!"

Shhh!! Don't say that too loudly. I read with a number of different groups. This was a book club pick a couple of months ago. It has a strong heroine and is 100% rape free. No coercion. No blackmail. Are you sure this is a historical? I read the second in the series and liked it too. The third in the trilogy is due out Oct 2. Yeah, I'll probably read that one too.

I'll have you know that my wife checked my head for lumps or possible fractures but she can find no sign of any head trauma. Apparently I've done such a good job of railing against historicals that she won't even give these a shot. Her loss I say.

Christina (christinaovallsbooks) | 384 comments Hi Penney!

I took a little more time with your picks since you had such a huge amount on your shelves and I wanted to make sure I recommended something that you like. I think you have read everything I have read, and then some :-).

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
Home Run: Gunmetal Magic - This was on your Wish List and I noticed that you read a lot of books from her. I'm thinking of trying this one.
Field of Dreams: Venice Vampyr - Sine I would definately love to go to Venice at one point. I will tell you that I loved this book. Some of the scenes were a little hot.
Clean Up Hitter: Archangel's Storm - I know that this one doesn't come out until the 4th, but I believe it was next in one of your series.
World Series: The Kite Runner

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:
First and Goal: Need - I did a lot of searching to find an author you hadn't read. This serieshad great reviews and is PNR.
Friday Night Lights: One For The Money - This author and series are in my personal favorites. The movie was pretty good as well.
Touchdown: Born of Silence - Also one of my favorite authors. The beginning will make you cry though. I thin it is the best in this series so far.
Super Bowl: Morrigan's Cross - This is a new series for you (trilogy). It has vampired and witches and is a great read.

I hope you find something that you enjoy!

Christina

Coffeentea | 128 comments Nichole, hope you will find something you like.

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:
1. Home Run: Fever Moon: The Fear Dorcha - Since you seem to love and finished the Fever series and the Highlander series. Maybe you could try this graphic novel that’s related to the series.

2. Field of Dreams: The Club - This steamy story is set in Regency England. I would love to travel back in time to see all the high fashion of those days.

3. Clean Up Hitter: Biting Cold – This was released recently, I heard several people really enjoyed this installment of the series. I only read up to book 3 (Twice Bitten), because I heard book 4 (Hard Bitten) had a cliff hanger at the end. So I opted to wait. I plan to start from book 1 and read all the way through to Biting Cold soon.

4. World Series: Irish Fling – Sorry I had to cheat with this one and grab something that is not on your TBR pile. But I made up for it by putting 2 picks from your TBR in the later section. This is cute and short romance that takes place in Ireland.

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:
5. First and Goal: Something Secret This Way Comes – I have not read the Anita Blake series but I heard someone with similar taste compared this series to what they wanted the Anita Blake to be before all it went downhill. I really enjoyed this book. It was entertaining and action packed with a little potential romance.

6.Friday Night Lights: Infinity - I liked her Dark Hunter series but had not read this new YA series spinoff for Nick. Sherrilyn Kenyon has a deal with Amber Entertainment to make this into a movie or TV show.

7. Touchdown: Angels' Blood - It was hard to pick a 5 star book that is also the beginning of the series to recommend. But I love this series because it’s got a kick butt heroine that’s good with sword with sexy angels and vampires. It’s action packed with good world build.

8. Super Bowl: My all time favorite paranormal romance series is the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. You could start with The Warlord Wants Forever since it's in your TBR. The first book of this series is A Hunger Like No Other. This series have a plethora of different paranormal being such as valkyries, demons, werewolves, vampires, phantoms, witches, fey and fury. Each book builds toward a larger story arc. My favorites of the series are Dark Desires after Dusk and Demon from the Dark.

Don't worry about it Jane - as long as I know what's going on I don't mind waiting! Besides, I'm going to be spending the day today doing battle with Mother Nature to try to reclaim some areas on our property, so I wouldn't have had a chance to do more than take a quick look before this evening anyway!

Lady Allison | 118 comments Hey, Julie! Hope you find something good, if not just let me know & I'll repick :)

Baseball :

Home Run: I loved Nora Roberts' Bride Quartet series! Vision in White is the first one & this series will leave you with a smile on your face & nothing but romantic thoughts in your head ;)

Field of Dreams: You enjoyed quite a few of J.R. Ward's BDB, so you should really read her latest one - Lover Reborn, you won't regret it!

Clean Up Hitter: Looks like you're a big Julia Quinn fan (me, too! I love her characters). A favorite of mine is her older Bevelstoke series, starting with The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever, you'll find new favorite characters & fall in love all over again ;)

World Series: I've heard nothing but good things about Kate Morton, so try The Forgotten Garden which is set in Australia

Vision in White (Bride Quartet, #1) by Nora Roberts Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (Bevelstoke, #1) by Julia Quinn The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

Football

First and Goal: Have you tried romantic suspense? It's exciting & sexy & romantic & you should try it! Read Pamela Clare's Extreme Exposure, a series about an investigative team & the adventures they get into while running down their stories. (Ignore the crappy first few covers, the book is quality!)

Friday Night Lights: Check out The Help by Kathryn Stockett! It's a bit slow to start, but I highly recommend the audio book, it really brings the book alive. Also, they did a wonderful job with the movie!

Touchdown: Since you've already read Divergent, my next 5 star read recently was The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. I absolutely love the world she spins. If you're interested start with Bloodlines

Super Bowl: You haven't read nearly enough Lisa Kleypas, woman! She is one of my absolute favorite authors no matter the genre, she is a master of words & storytelling. Since you've read the Wallflowers, you should really check out the Hathaways! SO. GOOD. Start with Mine Till Midnight

Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare The Help by Kathryn Stockett Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas

Photojim, I loved your picks, thank you!!! I actually read a few chapters into This Side of the Grave & got bored, but I may try it again. I will definitely be reading Drink Deep & Simply Irresistable this month - thanks again, can't wait! :)

Those are two great choices! I am reading two of Lisa Jackson's older medieval series this month. Should be interesting. And Julie Garwood is absolutely wonderful. One of my favorite authors. Just let me know about Shadow Game. Enjoy!

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Yz, I enjoyed going through your shelves and found a lot of books/series listed that I love. My first impulse seems to be towards Urban Fantasy & Paranormal, but I tried to reign that in and give you a better mix of options, LOL.

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:

Home Run :
Happy Ever After (Bride Quartet, #4) by Nora Roberts Happy Ever After, Nora Roberts -- I really liked this whole series and NR is one of your top 5 authors. Plus it will finish out the series. :D

Field of Dreams
Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison Dragon Bound, Thea Harrison -- I loved this book!

Clean Up Hitter
Scandal in Spring (Wallflowers, #4) by Lisa Kleypas Scandal in Spring, Lisa Kleypas -- You still need to finish the Wallflower Series & Daisy's story is wonderful.

World Series
And Only to Deceive (Lady Emily, #1) by Tasha Alexander And Only to Deceive, Tasha Alexander -- I hadn't heard of this book before searching your shelves, but it looks very interesting. In fact, I went ahead and added it my shelves.

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:

First and Goal
Victorious Star (Interstellar Service & Discipline, #1) by Morgan Hawke Victorious Star, Morgan Hawke -- I noticed Cherise Sinclair and Tymber Dalton on your shelves, so I think you'll like this author.

Friday Night Lights
The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer The Host, Stephenie Meyer -- I keep telling my mom she needs to read this book by saying, "Think Invasion of the Body Snatchers told from the aliens' perspective." I finally bought the hardcover and gave it to her, that's how determined I am she would enjoy it. LOL. Imagine my delight when I Googled movie adaptations and found this gem was coming March 2013. Now if they only don't screw it up.

Touchdown
Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage (Highland Pleasures, #2) by Jennifer Ashley Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage, Jennifer Ashley -- I loved this just as much as Ian and Beth's story.

Super Bowl
Touched by an Alien (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #1) by Gini Koch Touched by An Alien, Gini Koch -- I love the world Koch has created in this series and Kitty has such a unique way of looking at the world. Her quirky sense of humor usually has me laughing quite a bit and she's not one to wait for rescue, instead she's usually trying to lead the charge.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hi KarenH - I've leaned heavily on your 'cant' wait to read' shelf which made my selections incredibly easy ;) And because you had so many similar books on your shelves to me, I let myself 'go' on the M/M options. I hope you like at least one of them!

Baseball - From Their To-Read (or Similar Unread) Shelf:

Home Run:
Lethal Rider - Larissa Ione seems to be a solid read for you.

Field of Dreams: Clear Water (I'm trying to get over to the US sometime next year or in 2014.)

Clean Up Hitter: Cowboy Casanova - I haven't read any books in this series yet, but I've been meaning to.

World Series: The Ghost on My Couch - I loved this book and it's based in London :)

Football - From Your Shelves or New to Them:

First and Goal:
Life Lessons - Kaje Harper writes great M/M books. You should give her a go sometime.

Friday Night Lights: Fifty Shades Freed - had to look this up, but they seem to be making these books into movies.

Touchdown: Shattered Glass - this is a very quirky, funny and surprisingly interesting read.

Super Bowl: Warrior's Cross - I know this isn't officially part of the series, but you can't read Armed & Dangerous from the Cut & Run series until you have read this one.

Enjoy!

(I've just noticed that at least two of my selections involve characters that wear fuzzy bunny slippers!)

Lethal Rider (Lords of Deliverance, #3) by Larissa Ione Clear Water by Amy Lane Cowboy Casanova (Rough Riders, #12) by Lorelei James The Ghost on My Couch by L.A. Gilbert Life Lessons (Life Lessons, #1) by Kaje Harper Fifty Shades Freed (Fifty Shades, #3) by E.L. James Shattered Glass (Shattered Glass, #1) by Dani Alexander Warrior's Cross by Abigail Roux
