I liked Graceling OK but found it blah on some instances. I know a lot of other people loved it but I just couldn't feel it.
The Winter Rose & The Help are both great books. They are really sad in their way so if you don't like sad books, stay clear from those. :)
I don't know what my next chunkster will be...here is the list of the most likely candidates (not in order)

The Fiery Cross

Question: can we include books that we've read from the beginning of the year if we just signed up? I just finished a 516 page book two days ago!!!
Amanda wrote: "Question: can we include books that we've read from the beginning of the year if we just signed up? I just finished a 516 page book two days ago!!!"Yes, you can.
I like this! Count me in forMor-book-ly Obese - Eight books with 450+ pages
1. The Shelters of Stone 768 pages 1/11
2. The Traitor's Wife 499 pages 2/13
Currently in my TBR list: The Land of Painted Caves 753 pages
I'm also considering trying to read War and Peace this year - at 1392 pages that may be a stretch though. Ill decide based on how my 100 books challenge goes. Got to catch up on that one first.
[edit] Hmm.. I thought I was quoting one thing but ended up messing up. This is in response to Yz's comment that audiobooks also count.Oh oh.. audiobooks too? Does something I started listening to last year but didn't finish count then? I am very very slowly slogging my way through Gone With The Wind, listening to it only when I walk for exercise. I may not even finish this year though, that's how slowly I'm going.

Jane (PS) wrote: Hahaha! Should we blame this on the length of the book or that you don't walk much! LOL! A bit of both? Also, I got a bike in the fall, so now I ride it a good bit instead of walking. The audiobook is something like 49 hours. It's insane. The accents and voices that the reader does are amazing though. I may just quit and instead actually read the book later in the year instead. I wonder if it is available on kindle yet. I'm finding it a lot easier to read those long books on the kindle - no tired hand from holding the book and making it stay open on the right page. And it doesn't hurt as much when I fall asleep at 3 am while reading and the kindle falls on my face. Those hardcovers.. OW!

Unfortunately, it has to be books started within the year.
I second Jane's comment. Maybe you need to walk more... LOL!

I'll read this year. :)
