Sorry it was a rubbish book, Leslie :(
Can you confirm the date finished Kimberly? I assume it's either the 24th or 25th. Thanks :D

We have our next shelf: Favourite Series
I'm going to go peruse, see if anything jumps out :)

I'm not sure about re-reads, I'll go check the rules - I think they're allowed...

Q: Are re-reads allowed?
A: Re-reads are not preferred, but are allowed.
ETA: However, if you re-read a book, you may only use that re-read for ONE shelf per game. (IE: You are re-reading Nalini's Psy-Changelings books for the challenge. You want to use book #3 for the 'paranormal-romance' shelf. That is okay. But, you cannot re-read the book AGAIN for the 'favorite-series' shelf.)

I'll be reading

Re-reads are definitely allowed! I try not to, but sometimes it just has to be.

I will have problems with this shelf since most of the books from my TBR on it are first in the series and I really don't want to start another one :/
If I don't find anything else I will go for

I'll be reading

@Leslie: How old is your daughter? Will you be helping to plan the wedding?
I've started

Thank you, all!!
And Josie, my daughter is 23. And not sure about the wedding. I'm sure I'll be helping some. I already have a board on Pinterest for it LOL!! She is having it in New Orleans (our hometown) even though she lives in Palo Alto. But my son is getting married first in July. He's my second child. He's been dating the same girl since he was a sophomore in HS.

Book: Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione

Review: It took me more than half of the book to start liking it. Before that I was almost convinced that I would have to hunt up another book for this shelf. I guessed demons just aren't for me, but since I came that far I decided to stick with it. The book actually got a lot better and it got me interested enough to add the next book on TBR shelf.

I appreciate what you wrote in your review of Pleasure Unbound. I've heard the next one is really intense. I'll be reading it in December. If you'd like to buddy read, let me know.

Here's our completed demon shelf:

Although I have taken a long time between books in this series, I still enjoyed the story, although I don't think this one advanced the overall plot very much. However, with only four objects to obtain and lots of Lords to partner up, I supposed that could be expected! In this "installment", Amun, Keeper of Secrets falls for a Hunter that has been re-born over and over again even though she is supposedly "just" human. I enjoyed seeing how their story finally played out and all the past events that bound them together.
(I remember someone mentioned Zacharel in another review and couldn't remember where he had come into the stories - apparently in this one! He was the angel in charge of the angels protecting everyone else from the demons taking over Amun and the one that "helped" the two of them on their quest.)

Leslie, I want to be a fly on the wall at your house this Thanksgiving! What an exciting time for you and your family!
I'm reading Accidentally Catty and it's kind of hard to get into. It's supposed to be funny and is funny at times, but it's like I reading a different language. Sometimes I have no idea what the heck they're talking about. And I've read all the other books before this one! I'll keep reading because I know something is going to happen soon where I'm going to say in the end, "that was cool!"
CONGRATULATIONS ON OUR STAMP!!! GO TEAM!!! :)

I really enjoyed this story of Lisa Stone who is flung into the 14th century in Scotland after she touches a flask. Circenn Brodie had put a curse on it and has promised to kill whoever returns with it. When confronted by Lisa, he has quite a dilemma. I love time travel stories and one reason is that I like to read how the author has the characters handle the experience. In this one the people around Lisa in the 14th century aren't surprised by her time traveling so she is not faced with suspicion and fear. Circenn is quite the mighty warrior and their relationship has a nice arc to it. The history woven into the book about the Templars and Robert the Bruce was interesting but somewhat distracting from the main storyline. And the ending felt a little too pat. But other than those few complaints, a fun, sexy book filled with brawny Highlanders doing what they seem to do best!

As to his proposal, he gathered together pictures of special times in the 5 years they had been dating and with the help of one of her sisters, put together a book. On each page starting with year one, he had a picture and then he wrote out his special memory of the day. On the last page, he wrote And the Best is Yet to Come, went down on one knee and handed her the ring. He asked her on their 5 year anniversary, and they will be married on the same date (easier for him to remember!). I wish I could post pictures, I would post a picture of it and them. So sweet. And I have to say both my son and my future son-in-law spoke to the father's before asking. My daughter's fiance asked her on their rooftop garden and he got down on one knee as well. So perfect when your kids find good partners. Thanks for letting me share about my kids!

Awwww! So sweet!

Here's my review:

Title/Author: Destiny Binds by Tammy Blackwell

Review:
Eh, I'm in two minds with this book. For some reason, I had really high hopes, the book was ok but wasn't fantastic.
I couldn't seem to connect to any of the characters, especially the heroine, Scout. Sometimes her emotions were quite wooden (apart from the end) and were quite changeable. I was a bit confused at the beginning, I wasn't sure if Scout knew about wolves. I didn't particularly like her best friend or her brother or Charlie.
The ending was the best part, didn't see that happening and it was very emotional. I'll probably read the next one.

I must admit that my mum was not happy that my hubby didn't ask her first (dad had already passed away), even though I was 26 and not living at home. But she got over it pretty quickly.
Love both those stories. Always important to do something unusual so it becomes a special memory.

And my husband certainly never thought to ask my mom (single parent as well) for my hand, either! And I will say they didn't actually ask, they simply talked to them about their plans. And you are right, a good memory carries alot of weight when you are having a tough day (week, month) in your marriage.

Though they all look good!!!!

Review: It's been quite a while since I read this book and after two books that didn't feature Elena and Raphael it was a good reminder of their beginnings before next book about them comes out.
The book was even better second time around and it has me convinced that I won't be reading Psy-Changeling any time soon, at least not until I get tired of re-reading this series.

Leslie, buddy read for

@Gea - I'm so happy you want to buddy read! I'm scheduled to read it in December. I will PM you and we can set up a time and message thread. And I agree about the struggle to write reviews. Some days I'm just not feeling it and have no idea what to say. Though I have a harder time with the bad ones.

Yes, things are pretty crazy, but they have each other and it helps in school. I only have to teach two grades instead of four :)

Finished 30 October

Nina was flat out annoying. I didn't realize anyone could swear that much. Especially in one sentence.
When she wasn't mouthing off, Katie and Shaw weren't that interesting.

It was great to hear Leslie, I loved that you shared :D

It was hard to even write the review because I had no idea what to say.
Oh well, maybe the next shelf will be better.
