Born and raised on a 200 year old farm, I've always grown up surrounded by the kind of magic you can only find out in nature.
I'm a country girl. Not the kind you hear about in songs, or the stereotype you see with cowgirls and their ye-haw stuff. Maybe farm girl would be a better way of putting it... My whole life, I have felt the call of the land. When I'm outdoors, it is as if I can hear this wonderful world we live in breathe. I've sung alongside coyotes, bolted over brush with deer, and danced to the chorus of the night.
And in those in between moments, somewhere between school and wandering through the woods, I write.
Not surprisingly,my life's changed as I've gotten older. I found myself thrown completely out of my comfort zone when I left for college in the city. That was three and a half years ago. Now that I'm back on the farm for a while, pre-med biology degree in hand, I find myself wanting to go back to that city, hopefully while continuing my studies.
Just as I did throughout college, I keep my books and my little yorkie, Bear, close by for company.
And while I wait for the opportunity to leave the farm once again, I shall write, entering the world of the Glen, once more.
