Crumb asked Georgia Hunter:

I really enjoy reading fiction set in WWII. Do you have any favorites wartime novels set in this time period?

Georgia Hunter Yes! David Benioff's "City of Thieves" reads like a film - you'll fly through it. Julie Orringer's "The Invisible Bridge" (based on her grandfather, a young Hungarian Jew studying in Paris @ the start of the war) is long but absolutely gorgeous. Some other favorites are Markus Zusak's "The Book Thief," Anthony Doerr's "All the Light We Cannot See," and Leon Uris's "Mila 18." I also loved Jillian Cantor's "Margot" (an imagining of what might have happened to Anne Frank's sister Margaret, had she survived). What are some of your favorites??
