I read this book a few years ago but since the 2016 presidential election everything I have heard about Donald Trump puts me in mind of Charlie Croker. Was Trump Wolfe's model for this character? What do other readers think?

Croker is less shallow than he seems and is more aware of the mingling of the has-been and the comeback man he still is.
I know The Bonfire Of The Vanities is considered as the better-told story, but who cares about plot details in The Man In Full? Trump won't tell us the answer. He lets America rule by free employees paid by The New York Post.(less)
