Kellyn Roth
Kellyn Roth asked Carrie Turansky:

Though I love the Edwardian Brides series for their plots, characters, and Christian content, I also admire how they always seem spot-on historically. How did you gain that knowledge? Do you spend a lot of time researching? How would you recommend an aspiring historical fiction author to go about research with a limited budget? :)

Carrie Turansky Hi Kellyn, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the Edwardian Brides series. Each time I begin a new book I start with research. I find the story ideas, setting and characters there. They spring out of the research. I have a page on my website about my research process. I hope you'll come take a look and find some good tips there. http://carrieturansky.com/index.php/r...
Ressearching on a budget is totally possible because of the internet. Google image serach and Pinterest will often lead you to articles and books (I usually buy used research books) that will help you with your story. Take a look at my Pinterest boards for my books and see what I mean. That's a great way to store links for research. I hope that helps. Blessings, Carrie
