Maggie Richards

How do you pronounce the lead characters name? I'd like to read this but find if I can't even pronounce the name I'll stumble through the whole thing and it won't flow properly.

Julianz Halfway down the first page of the book:
"I don't embrace the traditional Welsh pronunciation (...) Thus, Miff-un-ee. Simple. In fact, now that I think about it, it rhymes with Tiffany".
Linda C I knew someone in college with this name (first and last, actually) and it was most definitely not pronounced like Tiffany with an M. I believe the Welsh pronunciation is Ma-van-way which is much prettier than Tiffany. Why give a character a deliberately ethnic name then intentionally mispronounce it?
Bobbi I feel like its up to the writer and if the writer says its pronounced like tiffany then that would be correct despite the 'real world' proper pronunciation.
Caitlin van Hoffen My grandma's name is Myfanwy and it's pronounced Muh-VAN-wee. She is also very Welsh so I'm pretty sure she'd be pronouncing it right.
Alina Even if at first she says she pronounces it rhyming with Tiffany, later in the novel she realizes she mispronounced it all her life, and it's actually [məˈvɑːnʊɨ], like here: http://forvo.com/word/myfanwy/
Eric Smith Audiobook reader pronounced it like Tiffany.
Maya He answers it towards the beginning, but rather like Tiffany.
Satorare Watch "Little Britain"! 😅 https://youtu.be/egBsTP0A-dY The pub owner is called Myfanwy.
Adrian Hillier In Welsh, it’s pronounced My-van-wee, the ‘van’ part has a soft pronunciation, a cross between eff and vee, sort of ffvan. As the book was written by an Australian, it’s entirely possible the author didn’t really know the correct pronunciation, although it seems the character didn’t know how it was pronounced, having no memory.
Looking forward to the TV series based on the book starting 2019.
The Demented It DOESN'T rhyme with Tiffany, unless you pronounce Tiffany very oddly! http://forvo.com/word/myfanwy/
