Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Roger Gloss I’m a passionate environmentalist. Call me a tree-hugger if you like. For years I’ve been deeply concerned about climate change and the unwillingness of those in our federal government to deal with it – as well as their unwillingness to deal with a host of other pressing national problems that don’t necessarily poll well in their reelection campaigns.

I wanted to build a novel around these major themes while, at the same time, taking pains to craft a compelling plot with an array of memorable characters. If there is anything consistent in all of my fiction, it is my commitment to character and plot while tackling contemporary themes of major importance. The result of all this is Third Wind.
