What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Laura Drewry Read and write A LOT. As with most things, you're not going to improve if you don't practice, so write, re-write, delete, edit, re-write and write some more. Never stop. Same goes for reading. Read for enjoyment, but read for the lessons as well; study your favourite authors (and some of your not-so-favourite authors) to see how they craft their stories and how the rhythm of their words is different from the next author. It's the best kind of learning ever. :o)
