Thanks for replying to my last question but I also wanted to ask you where the idea for such a landscape and place came from? I understand that Jorg is based off Alex from Clockwork Orange (Which I read after you mentioned, I can see some similarities) but I wanted to know where the Broken Empire was inspired from.

Mark Lawrence Jorg is a very rare example of an idea for which I can point to an inspiration.

99.9% of my ideas bubble out of the ether and I have no notion of their origins. The Broken Empire appeared as I typed, without forethought.

Dear Mark, I just finished reading The Broken Empire trilogy in Italian. I usually read books in their original language, but this time I risked with my mother tongue. Are you involved in the translation process? I found the Italian titles quite disappointing. The three books are titled as: Principe/Re/Imperatore dei fulmini, that in english would have been Prince/King/Emperors of lightnings. Why lightnings?
