can someone tell me why he did not get caught? and what happened when he comes to Paul Allen's house and discovers it is sold? the woman selling the flat tells him to go away and never come back. Who helped Bateman out? Who covered his murders and how? Why his lawyer in the end tells him "i had dinner with Paul Allen in London 10 days ago"?

She must've been aware of the terrible smell left in the apartment due to the murders, necessitating the multiple bouquets of flowers to mask any lingering smell. I may be giving the real estate agent too much credit, but I thought that she made the connection that Bateman may have been involved in the brutalities due to his apparent preparedness for the smell of carnage.(less)
