Rhea Charming asked Jonathan Stroud:

I loved the Bartimaeus Sequence and I am sorry that I have yet to read this series, but it sounds wonderful! What advice would you give to someone looking to publish a book? For instance, how do you approach a publishing company? What is the inspiration for your stories? Thank you

Jonathan Stroud The basic advice is to write what excites YOU, to send it out to publishers who produce that type of book, and not to be put-off by (almost inevitable) rejections. It's a long process, finding a publisher, and during that period, the only sane thing is to just keep writing something else, so that, emotionally, all your eggs are not in one basket. Good luck!
