Sex and gore is probably what got me more interested in reading. I went from remedial reader in elementary school to English Major because I discovered the types of books I found compelling. My early forays into the world of reading started with R.L. Stine and Christopher Pike. Better they read books with violence and sex than become mindless internet zombies like most kids these days.
