Laurie asked Gena Showalter:

I'm writing stories since when I was younger and bored in class! Now, I'm 24 and I think some of my stories are good but every time I read one of your books or another great author, I feel like there is no way I could do better or even half as good as yours are. Does it happen to you? If yes, how do you deal with that feeling? PS: I'm french so please, excuse my english! :)

Gena Showalter YES! This happens to me and other writers. I have read books by some amazing authors and experienced huge inferiority complex LOL I remind myself I'm thrilled the world has authors I love, authors who are so great I can't stop turning the pages of their books, and then I tell myself I do the best I can and that's all I can do. No author is ever going to please the entire world. There will be lovers and there will be haters. Do your best and give it all you've got :)
