Jodi Taylor Hi Sally. Sorry for the delay - deadlines! Great question - Markham is a special case. No doubt the Time Map would have flagged him up as an anomaly but Dr Bairstow was able to convince them his future was inextricably bound up in that of St Mary's. He had to survive. Although I'm playing around with that a little in the story I'm writing at the moment. Can't say any more, I'm afraid.

Hi Jodi, simple question: In the St. Mary's books, why did you go for "an historian" instead of "a historian"? I get it that "h" is a weak consonant, but for other combinations like "a hideous" or "a hindrance", you use "a" (thank goodness my ebook reader has a search function). I'm not an English native speaker (I'm German) but I'm very interested in details like this. Is there a quirky rule that I'm not aware of?
