Oliver Müller
Oliver Müller asked Jodi Taylor:

Hi Jodi, I'm on my second round reading the St. Mary's books. Mostly, of course, because I very much enjoy them. But I also wanted to figure out how old Max is in the books. But I'm already starting to get lost again in book #1. ;-) In the Dramatis Personae, you say she's in her late 20s (during the main events, I assume), but I can't figure out her own biological age e.g.in book 14. Could you help, please? Ta! :-)

Jodi Taylor Hi Oliver, - a very good question and one I can't really answer because even Max doesn't know how old she is. A person's own body clock continues to function no matter what time they're in. For instance if you jumped back ten years you wouldn't be ten years younger. And if you stayed there ten years you'd still be ten years older when you returned. Max has undertaken some very long term assignments - including nearly a year in 1399 - three months here, another six months there, another month somewhere else - it all adds up. Plus, although she might spend six months at Troy it's perfectly possible she could return the day after tomorrow. She hasn't necessarily been away for six months. So her biological age and her official on paper birth certificate age are entirely different. I hope this has clarified things slightly for you but I bet it doesn't! Sorry.
