A Goodreads user asked Jessica Khoury:

Hello! Big fan here! Skyborn is hands down one of the best series I've ever read. I am desperately hoping for a fourth book or an epilogue book of sorts, and I'm writing a fantasy/adventure story of my own. I'm on page 108 and chapter 11. I was wondering, what advice do you have for young authors or about writing in general, especially on amazing, complex characters and beautifully clever plots and adventure novels?

Jessica Khoury Hi Sophie! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed Skyborn! I would love to write more books in the series, and hope one day my publisher will let me continue it. My best advice for young authors is to do your best to finish writing a book. Short or long, simple or complex, it doesn't matter. The hardest part of starting a story is pushing through the middle and getting to the end. Then, it's simply a matter of going back and editing it until you're happy with the final story. A sloppy but finished first draft is SO much more important to have than a perfect handful of chapters.
