If I've already asked this question, then I apologize. When writing in first person, I find it easier to get inside the characters head, but harder to portray their personality. In The False Prince, Sage's personality is so strong and you can easily see the portrayal of his character to be witty and sarcastic. I love that. Any pointers to get the characters true personality out there while writing in first person? Thx

Jennifer A. Nielsen Hi Ava; If you're trying to write a very strong character who really leaps off the page, then make sure your character has A) A strong motive for what they want; B) Serious consequences if they fail; C) An obstacle or antagonist that is more likely to win; and D) Flaws in your heroes character that make it likely they will lose. Whatever the specific traits in your character, with these four drivers in the story, your character should come alive for your readers.
