That is an interesting question. My life isn't very mysterious, though... at least not to me. However, there are people in my past that have been (and are) quite mysterious.
In fact, one of my works in progress (WIP tentatively called "At Arm's Length") deals with one of those people. It is completely fictitious, but there is that kernel of truth buried at the very bottom.
I knew a girl many years ago, and she has resurfaced, but is shrouded in mystery. I have made up a fantastical reason for why she cloaks herself in the unknown. There isn't a shred of truth in anything beyond us being friends almost 40 years ago.
