This is hard to answer, I'll be honest. Clearing my head always works, with hearing a good old joke or leisurely editing over the last couple pages I wrote. That usually brings up the ideas again and keeps me focused directly on what I'm doing. I might even write a chapter for another book in the series and go back to the current book later!
