Every writer is different. None of us work at the same pace, think up the same ideas or same ways to get inspiration. Sure, you could be like me and have a whole year where you think your ideas suck, but then your next year might be the one when you write your best piece. Keep persevering about all. Remember that any day can be the day you write your most famous story.

This is hard to answer, I'll be honest. Clearing my head always works, with hearing a good old joke or leisurely editing over the last couple pages I wrote. That usually brings up the ideas again and keeps me focused directly on what I'm doing. I might even write a chapter for another book in the series and go back to the current book later!

I am currently crafting a sequel for The Lincoln Spy. This book, whose title is yet to be revealed as it contains major spoilers, will be the second book in the Chasing Fools Series. This second book will continue the adventures of the main characters, Amelia Raht and Otto Ray, and will present a deeper look into their backgrounds and personality. A new time traveler weakness/fear will be introduced as well. A release date isn't yet decided, but hopefully before the end of 2015.

I was born in Catania, Sicily which is a part of Italy. I lived there till I was three years old and the feeling of pride and pleasure I get from that is definitely an advantage with my writing. Though not remembering every detail of those early years, I've heard plenty of stories and have seen many pictures of my time there with my family. The intermittent memories I get from that time make me feel at ease when describing one of my characters, Amelia Raht, growing up in Italy and recognizing its landmarks so well.

Easily the best thing is it's definition as freedom. No one knows a writer's characters as well as the writer, so no one else controls the story. But a writer creates a story that allows readers to relate to the characters.

For years I had struggled with creating a well structured story. All my ideas felt unoriginal and I was searching in the back of my mind for something. I started with a subject I knew a lot about: the civil war period. From that a beloved idea, for me at least, of writing a historical fiction book came flowing out. I had the names of the presidents I wanted to focus on, before I even considered the plot. Eventually Amelia Raht and Otto Ray were born.
