John asked:

Based on the past several Dean Koontz books, the EBOOK version of this novel will not be available at any public library. If you want it, you will have to purchase it from Amazon and of course only the Kindle eBook version is available for purchase. Amazon the Publisher of Dean Koontz novels has decreed that public libraries cannot purchase his newer eBooks. How do his readers feel about that?

AℳY♔Queen of Fat cats♔Ain't no lie Baby Byebyebye Literary agency plant? They're so mad at Koontz sensei cuz he loves the best readers of goodread the kindle unlimited eliteLOL!!! This book is available for free to those who love ebook libraries, the best one being the KU library. I'm broke if it wasn't for the KU library I would've missed the best books out there, in fact my first book by Koontz sensei was The other emily which was priced at 9.99 but thanks to ku I could read and enjoy and I immediatly purchased odd thomas.
Please stop the attacks on those cool authors that love KU readers, we deserve respect.
Scribner Library The only e-books not available at the Library is the Nameless series which I believe was an Amazon exclusive e-book. And I signed up for Kindle Unlimited free and read the series. Nameless was an amazing series. Our Library has all of his other new books.
Deborah I hate this! My e-reader only has the Nook app and doesn't have enough storage to download the Kindle app. I was wanting to read a book by another author for my book club earlier this year. All library copies were checked out and the e-book was only available for purchase through Amazon. I finally purchased it and downloaded it to my laptop. It's very inconvenient to read on a laptop. This is just one more reason that I do not like Amazon.
SpiffyCat I hate this. Libraries are great and allow everyone to read books. Literacy is so low, I hate anything that makes it harder to access and read any book. However, I do also want authors to make money. I don't think this solution by Amazon meets either of those needs very well. :(
Landpomeranze (so much to read - so little time) Well, at least it is rather cheap as a kindle ebook, only about 5 USD.
T. Rosado Any books published through Amazon’s publishing house aren’t available via ebook through public library systems. Including independently published books while available in the Kindle Unlimited program. Nor are the ebooks available at any other retailer. Granted, the physical books are usually available everywhere. Since Thomas and Mercer is an Amazon publishing line and the publisher of this particular book, as well as a few other books by Koontz, it won’t be available as an ebook at public libraries. It’s not necessarily a choice by the author, but an Amazon publishing requirement. Of course, it’s just another way for the ‘Zon to make money through their KU program or individual ebook sales, but not necessarily consumer friendly unless you’re an Amazon devotee. Personally, I don’t blame the authors since they make pennies from KU borrows.
Cathy I stopped reading his books, because they're all the same.
Not being available from the library would annoy me, and I would not be pushed into buying. I'd find something else to read.
Roxanne Someone must think this makes good business sense, but I see it as short-sighted and greedy.
