Catalina asked Isabel Allende:

At what age did you start writing? What advice would you give to young writers? Thank you!

Isabel Allende I started writing as a journalist in my early twenties. Journalism is a very good training for an aspiring writer. But I wrote my first novel, The House of the Spirits, when I was almost 40 years old. My advice is to young writers is write, write, write; this is like training for sports, you have to do it every day.  I heard Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of Eat, Pray,Love, give the best advice: do not expect your writing to support you or to make you famous; write because you love the process.
