Goodreads asked Mira Brooks:

What books are on your summer reading list this year?

Mira Brooks Any new Jane Henry, Atla Hensley or Zoe Blake, although, I will spend more time writing, I hope, than reading.
The Third book in the Insula Series, Quinn is still in the works, plus a new shifter series I'm writing is close to launching Book 1.
Some of my close family are not doing well, making writing harder to do lately. It's hard to explore your passion when your heart is breaking. However, this is life. Part of any good book is creating an emotional impact on the reader. As a writer, I examine parts of life that make me feel for the characters I'm creating. Any adult has experience they can draw from. Channeling the emotion, to make your pain real to an audience, can be great for writing because of the raw emotion of the writer. It just sucks being the person behind the keyboard during those really inspirational moments. This summer, my writing may look a little darker because of what's going on around me. I also, do intend to catch up on those authors listed above when my own brain won't cooperate. Lol.
