Take notice of the world around you, spend less time on facebook:), write every day (even if it's nonsense) read some more, make a plan, let it evolve, then edit edit edit.Then when you think you're done - edit some more.
Then when you're too excited to sleep because your characters are keen on carrying on the narrative in your head- read some more.
And, don't sweat criticism. You need it to get better, Every single person that reviews or gives feedback is helping you learn. Welcome it all, even when a voice in your conceited writer head is shouting "what the hell do you know anyway...?"
