This book tells more of Jacks story and provides a window into his past, explaining some of the more mysterious aspects of his character revealed previously in Skylark. This novel also follows Billie, in the aftermath of Skylarks conclusion.
Again, a novel built on unconventional love and the bonds of family.(less)

Seriously, I've been pretty lucky so far, I haven't really experienced writers block yet. I have the odd frustrated 'this isn't coming out right' moment, but for the most part, when I give the words time they usually come.
That isn't to say they make much sense in the first few drafts but they're enough to make the story flow and form the bones of something better later.
Also; I have four small children. This makes writing time precious. When I sit down to write I feel a pressure pot of built up words waiting to be typed before a little person yells 'MUM'. At this point in my life I have no time for writers block ! :)(less)

Borrowed Wings by Ruthie Morgan
"Skylark was my favorite Indie book read of last year. The sweeping journey of Evan and Billie Skylark from Paris to Scotland to tiny St. Cloud in the Pacific is lovely, poetic, and gut-wrenching. Therefore, I was extremely excited to see that the..." Read more of this review »

The book took me about 5 days to read rather than my usual 2. It is so richly descriptive that I needed to read it slow..." Read more of this review »
