Andreas, No question...just a comment. I've written a review of your book that will appear on my blog May 29. Excellent job...and it was nice to see some decent scientific extrapolation again. OK, one question: Why wouldn't the good ETs design the stargates so they were von Neumann machines that reproduce themselves and populate the different star systems? Just a thought.... Steve, thank you for your comment and question! The technology used by their race would certainly be capable of doing exactly that. However, even though they are explorers, they believe in expanding to live on other worlds only when necessary. As a result, they tend to examine and explore a potential colony site in detail themselves before deciding to link it to their transportation network. I look forward to reading your review. Be safe. Hi Andreas - I am a scientist who has been continually disappointed with science fiction books due to glaringly obvious scientific errors and limited, earth-bound imagination. The reality of astrophysics should give the writer so much to play with but it is rarely done well. However, your book is the best one I have ever read - you really used science to its full potential. When will you be publishing a second book?
