Is it OK for a 7th grade kid to read this and all the divergent series?

Kristina I read the first 3 books in this series, and I see nothing inappropriate about them, I am a home schooled mom and I would say those were appropriate for 7th graders, especially compared to some of the stuff out there.
Emily I read this series when I was in 5th grade yeah its okay
Jayde Alderman I'm late to the answer train but I read this over the summer before I went into 6th grade. Then again, I did read The Hunger Games in 3rd Grade. But I would say that it'd be okay.
Keilah Granito I am in seventh grade (Now almost eighth) and I read it and loved it. So, yea. There are some parts that are a little... but if you watch pg-13 movies, it's fine.
Emily I have fifth graders who are reading at middle school/high school levels, and I let them read it as long as they can carry on a mature conversation about some of the themes and events of the books such as genocide, murder, suicide, deciding when to first have sex, etc. If/when parents encourage their kids to think and talk openly or ask questions about these more adult realities of life, my upper readers do fine with the series.
Leslie Rosenberg If they've read the Hunger Games series or Twilight, yes. It might be a little more violence, but it does not have too much of a sexual context. Not like Twilight did. I would say that even a 6th grader could read this series, as long as they're able to read at this level. But there is violence and deaths, so if you're really concerned about that, then I would say no. But they've probably watched gory movies before so...
