Shahad Al Melhem asked this question about Bunny (Bunny, #1):
Is there a reason why Samantha's darlings were more realistic than the other darlings created by the other Bunnies? Is it because she claims to be less "superficial" and complex than the other?

Those are the feelings of Samantha that were deeply infused into her bunny. Based on her motivations and feelings when creating him, Samantha's bunny is a reflection of her - and that's why Max does what he does. Samantha can also be intensely self deprecating, so it made sense to me that Max was constantly belittling her.

Additionally, it's interesting to think about whether the Bunnies knew that Samantha would create something more intense because of her loneliness. They mention several times that they believed Samantha's darkness would bring something new to their experiment. They may have speculated that her need would help her create something more realistic.
