Hello Lois I thought the first Penric anthology looked a little underrated on Amazon.es (Amazon Spain) so I thought I´d add this review (in Spanish) under Clariana: https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/1982124296?pf_rd_p=17a988a6-15ad-46df-8d9f-8365d36240ce&pf_rd_r=NAMA654AE8ECH1RKHT29 Do you have a Spanish translator for the Penric novellas yet?

Thank you! That is just the sort of more wide-ranging reportage that this collection needs to get the word out.
No, no foreign offers on Penric yet except Japan, who did a lovely job on their cover last year.

Now that the 3-story collection makes up actual novel-length market weight, and with a second in the offing, I'm hoping for more action on the translations front, but first, of course, foreign editors need to hear of the works.

Falling Free is one of my all time favorite scifi novels. Will there ever be a third Quaddies book?

I was rereading The Warrior's Apprentice, and Bothari's impassioned speech just before he was killed really struck me. I never felt empathy for that character before, but his desperate wish was to be buried at the foot of Cordelia's grave. In Gentleman Jole, Cordelia is moving forward with life on Sergyar. Does she plan for her eventual remains to be interred on Sergyar, or on Barrayar?

Again I am rereading Captain Vorpatril's Alliance. Knowing G. Heyer is was something of an early influence for you, the thought drifted across my mind that Ivan is a many generations distant descendent of Freddy from Cottilion (he is my favorite character amongst Heyer's books). Both tend to be overshadowed by brighter stars, both have down to earth common sense. Was Freddie also a favorite of yours?
