Lois McMaster Bujold:
I was rereading The Warrior's Apprentice, and Bothari's impassioned speech just before he was killed really struck me. I never felt empathy for that character before, but his desperate wish was to be buried at the foot of Cordelia's grave. In Gentleman Jole, Cordelia is moving forward with life on Sergyar. Does she plan for her eventual remains to be interred on Sergyar, or on Barrayar?

I don't actually know what she and Jole will finally decide. I presently see her living actively into her late 140s, with Jole keeping up, thanks to Mark's Fountain of Middle Age. Jole, barely managing to keep his promise, won't be more than a year behind her in death, though. She will at that point have given 4 decades to Barrayar, but 7 decades to Sergyar. (I do hope she can get that planet renamed at some point, but I've no idea to what.) Wherever they end up, it will be together. I can see them wishing to rejoin Aral, but it may not be entirely up to them at that point but rather, to their many descendants. Miles, the other person who would care the most, will be long gone by that time.

Lois McMaster Bujold:
Hi! Thankyou for your novels. With the Vorkosigan universe, Do you ever privately worry about the trouble left behind in that universe from some of the endings of your books? (My husband and I’ve speculated 200 years later, when Eli Quinn’s genes have saturated Athos, curious and competently violent telepaths running roughshod over the rest of the universe. )

Lois McMaster Bujold:
In nearly all your books, you use only a single Point of View character, and generally I really love your close third person style. Recently, though, I was rereading The Warrior's Apprentice, and it occurred to me that Elena has a huge personal story that we don't get to see much of. Did you ever consider using a dual POV for this book, or otherwise consider letting us see the world through Elena's eyes?
