Singletary
Singletary asked:

I am half way through the book and I'm enjoying it, but one question still remains. Why didn't Olivia spend her quarantine time alone, instead of with her family that could contact Haag from her? You would almost think that the government would insist upon it.

Ken I agree that this was a weakest point of the novel and I don't think that it is resolved or even addressed.

It seems that Olivia could have exposed the entire British Isles to a pandemic and the government does nothing?
Singletary Thank you for your answer Susie. How does a book that you are enjoying turn out to be not so good? I'll answer that. The poor ending.
Susie Yes, absolutely. This novel requires suspension of disbelief; but thankfully not as much as with most Xmas stories, which are heavy on the cheese.
Tats I think the idea behind Olivia spending time with her family - even with the risk of Haag - was that she was finally off work and home for Christmas. As doctor she was working every Christmas in recent years so I don't find it all that unreasonable to have her spend the holidays for once with family.
