Jorge That's a hard question to answer. Technically, this book is suitable for children as young as 6 years old but I doubt that most would completely understand it at that age. One of my professors once told me that this book should be read 3 times in one's life: as a child, as a young adult and as an older adult. I think he said so because as we grow older our perspective changes, and thus we become able to appreciate things in different ways.
I'd say that teenagers and adults would enjoy this book the most.
Yeva Lalayan It is good for all ages. The philosophy of the book is completely understandable only if you read and reread during the whole life.
Daryl Serrano I've been reading this book yearly since age 12, and I always learn something new.
Raven This book has to be read at least once a year, every year of your life from as early as you learn to read. I read it for the first time when I was 8, and keep rereading it many many times in my life and still finding something new that I originally missed. To fully appreciate all the magic of the book, first time should definitely be in childhood.
B The age at which you begin to ponder and ask questions...
Lauren Hamilton I first read this book my senior year of high school in my French class. And I have kept it close by ever since. It explains that people are bigger than themselves. And that you can love someone so deeply and entirely and "be tamed" but still have to "leave"
Jessie Jr At any age, as long as your heart is open.
Paola It should be everyone's bed table book!
Karoline Johannesen My son is only 4,5 years old, so he doesn't understand the deeper meaning in this story. Even so he loves this book and I've lost count of how many times we have read it. This story must be one of his favorites
Kieran Reade I could say "for all ages" and leave it at that. I mean, I'm 26 and found this read veeery suitable... so, maybe for 26 year olds? I kid.

I've been told this is a common first read for kids (think primary school) in Mexico, so a lot of my friends recommended this to me when I wanted to start reading in Spanish. Honestly though, this did not feel basic at all. Actually... I see myself picking this up whenever I need a fresh perspective. It's a book for life in my opinion.
Anna Baboura There is no suitable age. The most suitable ages are 0 - 110
Dmitry Not just age. You probably have to re-read it during different life situations at various ages and it will be suitable in all just with different meanings.
Fern It's an all ages book. 2 year olds can read it, as long as they learn how to really young, avoid underestimating or overstimating small children, they are just people, they aren't subhumans as many people pass those ages see them. Comprehension and emotional maturity are not about age, each human is different, development stages can give a general sketching of how people mature but it varies and can give a lot of surprises. It's not that it *has to be re-read at different life stages, it's a book that draws you in, it's such a tender, empathic, compassionate, passionate, visceral, hopeful, moving and sociological reading that one wants to come back to it. Stimulating empathy is a much needed aid in the human world, the younger the better, so much it raptures, entrances and aches to be alive. If more humans become sentient and healthy the world would be spared of so much cruelty.
Jake Schmitz The best answer to this question was given to me by a literature professor while studying humanities in Spain: this book changes for the reader every 5 years... Meaning it will speak to you in different ways as a child, adolescent, and adult. It's so true! If you don't like it the first time around, give it a whirl in a couple of years.
Lap_sugarfree I agree, it is good to read it no matter what the age is. In fact, I consider that reading it at different moments of your life would be the best thing you could do, you can try to remember what you thought when you were younger, try to find answers to the questions you made previously and also questioning new things.
Letitia I use this as a required text for my basic acting class at the college I teach. I think it's appropriate for all ages, although sensitive children may get upset at the end. I reread it twice a year for my class and find something new each time. It's truly a wonderful book & I often encourage my students to read it again later in life and see what they discover then.
Mike Smyth I read this book to a second grade class. They were spread out on the floor and it was surprising how little the fidgeted about. They seemed mesmerized by the story. I was a guest reader and had them for 40-50 minutes. So yeah, kids that age love the story. I was 6-7 years old in second grade.
Larrry G the Space Age, astronomical
Hailey It is suitable for all ages the older you are when you read it the more lessons you get out of the book.
Aicha DAHMANE Its language is simple so it can be for everyone, but to understand its deep meanings need at leasts 3 reads for adults.
ACleo That is difficult to answer...
Even a 4 yr old could be told this story but understanding its hidden meaning might take a lifetime or a year to understand. It varies from person to person. But if you are 9+ it would probably suitable as you will actually understand it. If you don't understand it, you might lose patience towards this book and lose this excellent story!
Namit Chaturvedi 10 Years and Above is recommended, as children below that age may not understand
Marie I think that is really depends on if you want to read it and if you are ready. This book has a lot of symbolism in it and if you don't understand all of the symbolism than the book is more of a cute little story.
Rose Chang it is suitable for all age,and you will have different thought in different time
batkat This book is good for all ages and I believe rereading it at different points in life, one will get something different from or have a different perspective about the book. It's timeless.
Aidan Hart All ages. I had it read to me as a young child. I re-read it as an older child and then a teenager and again as an adult. I re-read it every few years. I think I have read it at least twice maybe thrice every decade and will continue to do so.

The beauty of the book grows and it always seems to have relevance to where I am.
JI$HNU All ages you can read. Every year. You will discover new things every time.
Mehmet Kurt Little Prince is a phenomenon. A novel that needs to be read once in a while. Each book teaches different things. What is more, the alchemist and the seagull are the books that are translated into the most languages after the sacred books on the same tab
Ynnah Delos Santos This book is for everyone. Some may see it as a children's book but just like what the book said, "All adults were children once, but some have forgotten"
Simette After reading it , I think it may seem a little bit difficult to understand so in my opinion it's more suitable for a 12 years old child .
Timothy Morrison two years old is more what would not see the book as boring
Manel Ben Salem Avec l’air de parler aux enfants, l’auteur du Petit Prince s’adresse à nous tous et son texte offre des niveaux de lecture divers et surprenants, du conte de fée au récit philosophique.
Crystal L Anderson Hi! I am new here because I got my second device. But how can I read this book? I just download it.
Nada Adel I've never read this book as a child but when I read it as an adult, it hit me with its philosophical messages and life lessons that I think would never have understood at the age of 6 or so. A child would definitely enjoy it as a bedtime story because it's supposed to be a children's book. But in my opinion, this book is deeper than that and requires an adult to really understand its entire meaning and the hidden messages inside it. So yeah, I would recommend it, especially to adults, and especially if you have any inclination that you are not being honest with yourself.
David Fhu I, personally, feel that it should be read at different stage of the life. Each of us from different age would have a different take away. Always ready some questions to ask yourself/reader while you are reading through the story. It will lead people thinking.
Karine Boyadjian I honestly think it's good for all ages, but at every age you would understand the book in a different way. Kids would love the book as a story but won't understand the meaning behind it, meanwhile young adults and older adults would read it as a philosophical book.
Speaking from experience I once read this book when I was 12, didn't really like it since I wasn't that young for a fairy tail kinda book and wasn't old enough to understand the morals. Now at age 18 I read it for a second time and I loved it, as I understood the more philosophical side.
Yuyu Any age. Cause when I was in primary school, I got attracted by the book cover, then I bought it when I went to middle school, or high school. I finished it but I forgot how I felt it.The only thing I remember is I immediately purchase the colorful pop up deluxe version when I saw the book few years later in the bookstore. Then years later, I saw the movie, and I felt like the way the movie interpret enlightened me more, and I started to read it again. So it's been over 10 years, and I think every time I read it, I can resonate with my life more and more.
Mari The ending could be upsetting depending on the child. I think ten is about right. Its really probably best for an adult, though.
