Thank you so much, Philippa! I'm in the very beginning stages of my next novel, and I'm hoping to get a serious start on it in the fall, when the marketing/publicity for Miracle Creek slows down. Given how long Miracle Creek took to write, I'm guessing about 3 years. I loved Miracle Creek for so many reasons, especially the highs and lows of motherhood and adults being made childlike as they struggle with a language in a new country. It also provided a window into the world of parenting special needs children, which I have not read much about. What drew you to write about that?

I love that this book was both a courtroom thriller & a domestic page turner. It reminded me of my mom who passed away when I was 16 - I'm 38 now. I didn't love reading until a few years after she passed, but I know we would have loved to discuss this one if we could. I kept thinking of sacrifice when I read this. In your eyes, which was the most subtle sacrifice in Miracle Creek?
