Charles Lamb
Charles Lamb asked Marilyn Foxworthy:

So how in the world did you get the ERB people to let you write with his material? I would love to play in that universe but was under the impression it was tightly controlled?

Marilyn Foxworthy Charles, look into copyright restrictions and what constitutes plagiarism. My books make reference to a world and a character, but the character doesn't actually appear in the books. And because some of the original stories are now in the public domain, a hundred years after they were first published, there is a lot of latitude in some respects. Do your own research and make your own decisions, but it might not be as difficult as you think, depending on what you plan to do. Best wishes.
