I don't want to spoil the book for anyone, so I won't be specific. Just wondering if anyone got the very end (last page) and the reference made about the mother and suicide?

Stephanie NO! Glad I am not the only one:)
ClareFan SPOILER _________________I didn't realise until I read this post that it meant she pushed her. But maybe she pushed her in the heat of the moment, so that Laura couldn't pull of the plan that Caroline would have to shoot Anna and Ella and then herself (to then allow Laura to get the money). If Caroline was out of the picture off the balcony, the plan couldn't work how Laura wanted. Just my guess that maybe that was Anna trying to subconsciously protect her child (and self)?

Joanne When I read the last page, I literally had a 'what the hell moment' which was very similar to the one I had when I read "I Let You Go" and I immediately turned back the scene in Mark's flat and re-read it.
Based on the note from Laura, I think it's clear that Anna pushed her mother from the balcony. Was it anger over the murder of her father and the lies she was told? Maybe partly. But I also think it might have had something to do with the money she had inherited that she wouldn't have any longer if her mother was alive.
I don't think Anna has much to worry about though - who will believe Laura?
Gillian Odom I was confused as well!!! Glad I’m not the only one. Like some of the others I am thinking Anna pushed her and Laura write that to hang over her head. I loved this book! Don’t understand it’s low rating on here

Josephine Draper I thought this was a very clunky ending (and I agree with others' reading of what it meant). Why wasn't there a clue to this earlier in the book? It is a throwaway line to win more shock value to me.

Kathy Anna did let out that really, really loud scream, maybe to throw her mom off balance or give her a little nudge.

Meggie McGee I think Anna pushed her mom. Perhaps she had inherited the bad psych/abusive genes of her mother.
