Sarah That’s exactly how I took it too- that Anna pushed her because she was so angry that the mom killed her father and lied about him being an alcoholic, etc. It took me a second to understand it as well but quite the twist! That’s what I love about this author’s books.

Karen Davis Engelbert Anna's saving herself and her daughter. If her mother's dead, Laura can't stage the mother killing Anna and Emma so she can inherit the money.

Regina Anna wasn't surprised to get the note. Do you remember how she said she was saving Laura's letters as insurance? That is why she is saving them, to be able to rebut this threat she knows is coming.
