Elizabeth asked:

Does anyone else love Trip as much as I love Trip? And I haven't finished, so please don't give away what happens between Trip and Pearl and Pearl and Moody :).

BeccahBoo I loved all of the Richardson kids, Loved Mia and Pearl, and Mrs. Richardson annoyed me...
francesca Argh, Trip was so frustrating! I just felt a tidal wave of sympathy for Moody, especially when it was revealed that his wonderful, thoughtful gift wasn't really cared about. Those underappreciated characters really get to me, you know? That made me loathe both Trip AND Pearl for a second there. But those chapters about the two beautifully, excitingly captured the rush of their romance. Too bad it had to be kept a secret - which I guess only intensified it??? anyways, i'm rambling now, so i'll stop. haha.
H-Grace I think as a teenage girl I would have had a crush on Trip. But, he needed more seasoning. Being affluent and so darned attractive, life was being too easy for him. I'm glad he was showing signs of introspection and gaining maturity. Mr. Richardson, in fact all the men, didn't have much character development - except Moody.
Amanda Kane I LOVED trip! I'm a little upset that pearl and trip didn't get to say goodbye and he never knew she wasn't seeing anyone else like moody implied. His feelings toward Pearl seemed so genuine, a different side of him that I think he didn't show anyone else really. Wish they could've had some closure of some sort.
Kate I felt for Trip, but while I felt some sympathy for Lexie and Moody, I also found them annoying. Trip actually cared for Pearl, while Lexie only used her at her convenience and Moody had a "nice guy" vibe that Pearl owed it to go out with him instead of Trip. Trip seemed like an all right guy, except for when he was picking on Izzy, but he teased all his siblings to some degree: it just seemed harsher with Izzy because it was already apparent that he didn't fit in.

Pearl never saw Moody as anything more than a friend, and when she got those clues that he wanted more, she declined those advances. She still cared for him as a friend and was doing her best to not hurt his feelings, which was one reason she was fine with keeping her afternoons with Trip a secret. When Moody heard that Pearl had an abortion, he implied to Trip that she was sleeping with him too, out of jealousy.
