Goodreads asked Kathleen Glassburn:

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Kathleen Glassburn There are so many -- but only for a few days. I'm happy where I am. I read The Green Kingdom by Rachel Maddux in about 1975. My life was aimlessly floating and I was looking for direction. This book and the idea of an isolated kingdom where the few inhabitants built their own environment, lived by their own values, and defined their own important pursuits appealed to me. I re-read the novel in 2005 when my life had changed immensely (much more satisfying as I devoted myself to my writing among other things). I still appreciated The Green Kingdom. "First published in 1957, central to the novel is the act of creation -- from naming the plants and animals of the kingdom to bearing children." At the present stage of my life, I'm still sending out feelers, figuring out what's next. It would be informative to stay in the green kingdom for a little while.
