What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Kathleen Glassburn Fiction writing is magical. It is fun and informative to watch the pieces come together. I often wonder why that particular character or event or place surfaced. Some of the pieces are known to me and I'm amused to see them show up in a random way, other parts of a story come from someplace (my subconscious? or?) that is a mystery to me. No matter where the aspects of a story come from, I always learn something about myself or life in general once the Discovery Draft is completed.
