A Hemingway
A Hemingway asked Amor Towles:

I have a very trivial question that has been dogging me: In "A Gentleman", the Count ducks into the coat check room, and there is a line: "Here was a black mink coat with a collar of ermine (or was it sable?)". Was that a reference to The Women (1939) - https://youtu.be/YKqK7U5shFo?t=45s ? Given that the movie is about young women in NYC in the late 1930's, I thought perhaps you were a fellow fan.

Amor Towles I am a fan of The Women, both the play and the film. I certainly didn't remember this scene in drafting that moment of AGIM. But I love the connection!
