I am a huge Andrew Wyeth fan and just finished A Piece of the World, and was sad to see it end ~~ I have not enjoyed a book so much in years! Please please write another on Wyeth's further career in Chadd's Ford, and about Helga from his Helga series. Will you write a novel about Helga? Your writing is descriptive and quite educational without being to wordy or sappy, I hope you don't change your style.

Hi Juni - Apologies for not writing sooner; I just discovered this page. I don't plan to write about Helga, but I was truly honored when Helga herself attended a signing I did at the Farnsworth Museum last summer. She sat beside me in a pink dress and we chatted for quite a while. It was so strange to discuss my novel about Wyeth's first muse with his SECOND muse! Fact is definitely stranger than fiction sometimes ...

Is this book fiction? Did you know that the woman in the painting had Charcot Marie Tooth a neurological disease? I have it. It affects the feet and hands then the arms and legs. It is the most common inherited neurological disease in the world 1 in 2,500. It is still rare. SO many people go undiagnosed. There are quite a few people in the UK with it . There is a CMTUK facebook page I think.

Throughout the novel, Orphan Train, the theme and idea of "fate" stood out to me as something that played a large role in the decisions that Vivian made. I was wondering what your thoughts are on how Vivian perceived fate and what roles that played throughout the novel? Also, do you feel that the idea of fate led Vivian to both moments of happiness and depression?
