I'm pleased I wasn't the only one who got confused too...
Barbara
Sorry but I also didn't get it. I felt like it was just author manipulation.

Now I don't feel so stupid because I didn't get it either....I thought there was something wrong with my mind! that I couldn't comprehend the book....So happy to learn i am not alone in my confusion....

My take on it was that Amber let Claire live, but used the fire to scare her so that Claire would leave her alone. Her comment in the last line “sometimes I lie” is in regard to her killing her sister because her comment right before that is “I killed my sister.” The bracelet shows that Claire is still alive and letting Amber know it.
John
Amber killed Claire and finally gets the life she always wanted but just when she thought it was safe, the bracelet from her childhood shows up and it means Claire is still alive.
Lori
I think the twist was that the diary belonged to Claire and not Amber. Also, Amber kills Claire and her hubby at the end because she realizes that she cannot live with Claire as a sister and she wants her kids.
Jill
Amber murders Claire. Afterwards, Amber burned Claire’s diaries and read Claire’s words, “Taylor told me to do it.” (murder Claire’s parents in the fire). The gold bracelet was delivered to the hotel ....presumably by Edward.

I think nobody did. Maybe the writer is kind enough to explain to us all at some point, who knows.

I guess we will never know... the author is really playing with the readers immagination though. But actually not in a nice thrilling way. He just left a really annoying question mark. Even if it was her husband, it wouldn’t make sense. Or maybe i got something wrong... it would be really kind if the writer could explain to us ( at least a hint?).

I liked the ending and got it . Amber suffered from multiple personality disorder of sorts . She was the one who set the house on fire because she wanted to have the 'idyllic' life , not matter how she got it ..............

Agree, glad I was not the only one confused, and disappointed!
Lucy
I agree with (spoiler) I had figured that out for the ending.
